US is ready to cede oversight of ICANN

On September 30, 2016 at 2300 CST (0400 GMT) the US government will cede oversight of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which will allow ICANN to become a self-regulating international entity. ICANN manages the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, which is the system of online "domains" such as ".com", ".org" and ".net".

This means that nations hostile to the idea of freedom of speech, such as Russia, China or Iran, could effectively have just as much sway over freedom of Internet traffic as anyone else in the world.

Here is my question: How long before the Internet comes under the control of the globalist UN?
