Trump's restrictions on immigration are similar to ones temporarily implemented by 0bama?

Trump has implemented some temporary immigration restrictions against unvetted migrants from seven countries known to export terrorism worldwide.

The restrictions are similar to the ones implemented by 0bama in his first term, though Trump's restrictions are only half as long as the ones twice done by 0bama.

Funny, when 0bama did it, there were no mass protests by the left...

Hypocrites, all of them.

I also can't help but wonder why it took the American people electing a wildcard for the gaping hole for unvetted immigrants to close. We have sheriffs, police chiefs and city and county board members who generally stood by and did nothing, or assisted the crimes of the federal government themselves.

Please keep an up to date file on every local politician, government employee and law enforcement official in your area who directly, or indirectly by inaction, works against the people's liberty and Constitutional law and order. This information will be useful at a later time.

Quill Rose, a portrait of a truly free man.

John Meyers at ZeroGov pens a good read about a real life, Smokey Mountain freeman named Quill Rose.

Is there any way to satisfy the drive inside us to be totally free and live without the constraints of little (and big) tyrants and their laws, as long as we are doing no harm to anyone? Is it possible to get away and simply exist as we wish, without having to request permission from the state to do so?

As he says, "Be Quill Rose."

Trump to sign more EOs this week.

Last week, Trump signed 17 executive orders and that sent the left into a psychotic tailspin, with protests and riots in dozens of major cities around the country. Meanwhile, regular people who don't live in the urban bubbles shrugged of the turmoil Trump is causing.

It would seem that the left doesn't understand why we elected Trump. Must I keep reposting this message around the Internet?

We elected him to do this. We elected him to cause problems. We elected him to jam up the process. And just as you on the left were unmoved by our concerns, we are unmoved by your violence and the tears of your leaders.

Trump's blistering pace appears ready to continue this week, as he is ready to sign another EO today aimed at overhauling the work VISA program. He is also meeting with some small business owners.

Mike Pence is meeting with the King of Jordan, Abdullah II.

SCOTUS Nominee will be announced January 31 at 1900 Central.

Trump plans to announce his pick for Antonin Scalia's Supreme Court seat, and it's possible that the only way the republicans will get them confirmed is to finish off the filibuster altogether. Chuck Schumer has already said no matter who gets nominated, the democrats refuse to confirm them.

But he also claims the revenge isn't part of the democrats' plan. Yeah, right.

I wonder how Harry Reid feels now about destroying the ability of the minority to block the majority's wishes in stocking the court system with apparatchiks. He dismantled the filibuster so 0bama could pack the lower level courts with America-hating leftists, and now the tables have turned on him.

Did Reid think he and his cronies would be in power forever?

In order for us to maintain some freedom going forward, we MUST replace leftists on the Supreme Court with Justices cut from the same cloth as Scalia, and we must replace as many as possible.

The VFMS tells the downside of populism.

Populism: The Downside by the Virginia Freeman's Society details some of the, well, downsides of populism. Not hard to imagine that allowing the mass of hundreds of millions of people to make critical decisions for the rest of the mass of hundreds of millions of people might turn out to produce some bad results.

Like the article asks, are lots of fools superior to just a single fool?

Someone also once quipped that a society declines when the village idiot's vote carries the same weight as the vote of Aristotle. Or something like that.

Populism is basically power to the people. Sounds good, until you meet some of those people and realize that they are 51% and that you are part of the 49%, and that they hate your way of life...

Populism can be closely tied to nationalism. Nationalism has been taught as a bad thing in schools for decades, but here is a repost on nationalism that gives another point of view.

Populism has it's goods and bads. Populism is a tool we are using to fight globalism, which must be fought viciously. But be wary.

In defense of these important natural rights, as outlined in the Bill of Rights.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

My 2¢ - A man is morally justified to be prepared to take violent action against state sponsored person or entity which attempts to infringe these important natural rights of the people. These rights are or bestowed by the state, nor can they be removed by same.

A free society is not always comfortable. We did not create a free society in order to partake in the comforts afforded by a free society, of which there are few. The only comfort a free man cares about is the comfort of knowing that he made his own way without the assistance or the impediment of any state sponsored organ, and upon the initiation of assistance, spurned such assistance, and upon the initiation of impediment, rebuked such impediment, either by word or righteous force.

Ozymandias reminds us that all great civilizations eventually decline.

"Ozymandias", by Percy Bysshe Shelley, c. 1817, upon the imminent arrival of a broken, eroded, ancient statue of Rameses II in London from Egypt.

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand hat mocked them and the heart that fed:

And on the pedestal these words appear:
'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

It is prudent to question the analysis of the intelligence community.

In fact, a large amount of the work done by the intelligence community revolves around questioning our own analysis. Intelligence products are rarely to be considered as hard fact, and this is due to the inherent nature of intelligence operations waged against a thinking opponent.

In the world of intelligence, we collect information against what we refer to as "intel gaps". Funny though, no matter how much intelligence we collect, these gaps do not and will not close. Why? Because ONLY when an operation is launched and completed based on collected intelligence do we really discover how right or wrong we were. Even then, we can't always be sure of what changed, if anything, in the weeks, days or hours prior to an operation or a decision being made.

When the raid against Osama Bin Laden was launched, some of the analysts may have given a "100%" estimate of he liklihood that he was actually inside his Abbottabad, Pakistan compound. This was portrayed in the movie "Zero Dark Thirty", but it's unlikely that anyone truly made that estimate. More likely, the best estimate anyone could make was probably about 80%. In the world of tactical intelligence, 80% is really high for an estimate of the location (disposition, in "spy" terminology) of a high value target (HVT). You're not going to get many chances to move against a HVT with an 80% estimate of disposition.

When you have an intelligent opponent who is conducting competent counter-intelligence activities against your intelligence collection activities, you HAVE NO CHOICE but to question the accuracy of the intelligence. Aside from adversarial intelligence (ADVINT) activities, the US intelligence community itself has some biases that negatively affect it's own ability to provide accurate intelligence information to policy makers. For one example, intelligence communities the world over have a tendency to overestimate threats in order to justify their claims that more resources need to be allocated to them in order to carry out their duties effectively. We see these exact same biases in the American law enforcement community. When was the last time you heard any law enforcement official say "We have just the right number of officers in our department to serve our area, we don't need any more right now."? The intelligence community sometimes carries these biases over into the final intelligence product, even if the collectors on the ground are not including them in their raw intelligence information reports (IIR).

It also needs to be said that the very top positions in the intelligence community are Presidential appointees. Have you ever considered that a President's appointees might be inclined to tell him things that he is more inclined to believe? Quite so. This is why I would hope that in addition to questioning intelligence reports and encouraging the intel community to question it's own reports (like it already should be), that a President would be willing to appoint cabinet members and agency leaders who think differently than he does. I would not go so far as to ask a President to seek out advisors who inherently disagree with him (for example, Harry Reid does not belong on Trump's cabinet, but perhaps Rand Paul does), but rather simply think and approach problems in a different manner.

Seems we are on that track so far.

The Myth of the Right-Wing "Extremist"

As well demonstrated in this piece from AltRight.com, the existence of a well organized and ever-present "right-wing, extremist" bogeyman is manifest almost exclusively in the imagination of the Anglo-sphere.

(Anglo-sphere: Countries where English is the native language. For my fellow intelligence community members, "FVEY".)

An excerpt that captures the idea:

"The myth is built on a foundation of disingenuousness and moral perversion. Ever-amplified, the myth of right wing extremism is regularly and artificially boosted by government and media, while violence arising directly from leftist terrorists, or indirectly from leftist pet projects such as mass immigration, prompts only silence, evasion, or logically gymnastic apologia. Even a cursory glance at the statistics reveals a stunning neglect of the Leftist threat historically and in contemporary contexts. According to a 2001 report commissioned by the US Department of Energy, Leftist extremists were "responsible for three-fourths of the officially designated acts of terrorism in America in the 1980's. From an international perspective, of the 13,858 people who died between 1988 and 1998 in attacks committed by the 10 most active terrorist groups in the world, 74 percent were killed by Leftist organizations."

DNC chair hopefuls go on anti-white rants.

Candidates for the chairman position in the DNC gathered for a forum recently, and it very quickly devolved into an anti-white, racist hate-fest. Some of the speakers stated that white people need to "shut their mouths" and it is their job to "shut down" white people when they try to give input during discussions of, well, just about anything, I suppose.

If these are the kinds of people the DNC is looking to for direction and leadership, then please, by all means, drive on in your endeavor. We might as well make Trump's term an eight year term right now if that's how y'all are going to play.

The left spent the last eight years calling almost half of America racist, sexist, bigots, homophobes, rednecks, backwards, hicks, stupid, uneducated, zealots, "clingers", "deplorable" and "irredeemable". Surprise surprise! Those people didn't vote for them, and in fact turned out in drove to vote against and defeat them. During the last eight years, these so called "irredeemable" bigots who are, in fact, NOT irredeemable bigots, have been whittling away at the democrats' state legislature and governor seats in response to the insulting and disgusting way the democrats have treated them. This has had the effect of a loss of about a thousand legislature and governor seats for the democrats throughout the country.

The left seems not to be heeding this message and are moving full speed ahead with their negative, insulting and divisive identity politics strategy.

The will be no hero worship here.

Simple, undeniable logic. Do not over complicate it. Just close your mouth for a minute and ponder this.

Times have changed...

The difference between a free mindset and an authoritarian mindset.

A free man views all actions to be legal unless a just law has been passed to make an action illegal. An authoritarian views all actions to be illegal unless the state has granted the privilege.

Learn the terms and facts before debating an issue.

When someone is knowledgeable about a specific subject, they're able to accurately define the subject, use correct terminology and honestly debate the merits and histories of said subject.

Therefore, it's proper to expect that a layman who comes along interested in debate will go and seek out the necessary information and become familiar with the correct terminology.

Anyone knowledgable on a subject is right to expect that a person who is debating them from an adversarial point of view should possess the ability to have an honest debate in the first place. While that does not require them to be an expert, it does require them to understand the subject matter.

If you can not differentiate between a rifle and a shotgun, then I will not debate with you about my right to possess either of those items.

If you have acquired all of your knowledge regarding firearm sound suppressors from Jason Bourne and James Bond movies, then I will not debate with you about my right to possess a sound suppressor.

If you have never looked at the actual sources for firearm-related crime stats, then I will not debate with you the effects of my Second Amendment rights on crime stats.

I do not expect you to be an expert or a gun enthusiast, but I do expect you to accurately define the subject, use correct terminology and HONESTLY debate the merits and histories of the subject.

Side note: The FBI violent crime stats page is the best place to start when researching crime stats and will often be the only source you need because it is an official and complete source that most of the honest sources derive raw stats from. Even the dishonest sources derive raw stats from there, before twisting them and omitting important pieces to fit their agenda.

I warn the gun control supporters who do visit the FBI stats page, you probably will not be happy with these statistics because they will not support your pro-gun control stance. Therefore, I highly encourage you to be flexible with your beliefs and principles on gun control, because the facts themselves are not flexible in the least, no matter how hard you try to bend them.

The Pope doesn't seem to favor populism.

It's pretty well known that socialist Pope Francis is not a fan of populism, and here we have a recent example from the Pope himself.

From what I've seen and the research I've done, Pope Francis is following well in the footsteps of his South American socialist/communist molding. He is one of the elites that the populist uprising in Europe and the US is moving against. Populism is power and freedom to the people, and that is something the elites will fight until the end. Unfortunately, the current Pope is part of that elite.

Donald Trump is the 45th POTUS.

It's going to be an interesting four years.

Things have changed, hopefully for the better. I've said we will get the statist we deserve. He certainly hasn't sounded anything like a statist in the last couple months and he didn't sound like a statist today. His inaugural speech was very good. He barely mentioned himself at all. Instead he talked almost exclusively about the American people.

Power back to the people, protected by the US Constitution and above all else, Almighty God.

Pray for Trump, and pray he serves the people by the letter of Liberty and individual rights.

Keep prepping, and keep a watchful eye. The globalists will not stop their push for control, the communists will not stop fighting against our individual liberties and the soldiers of Islam will not stop their jihad.

Relax today, get back to work tomorrow.

FBI paying Geek Squad to snoop through your computer.

I found this story on FBI using Geek Squad to spy on Americans over at WRSA.

Law enforcement, especially the federal variety, will ALWAYS seek ways to get around the checks and balances that are in place to ensure our right to privacy against warrant less searches and harassment. This has been proven time and time again.

Don't take your computer to Geek Squad at Best Buy. They're being paid $500 to "find" incriminating evidence on your computer and pass it along to the FBI.

We already know that the NSA has installed backdoors in electronic equipment that millions of Americans use everyday.

NSA installs malware and other malicious files, Geek Squad "finds" it, FBI sends you to jail (or blackmails you into not doing or saying whatever is you were doing or saying) and Geek Squad geek gets $500.

Some documents, preserved for posterity.

Repost links at the risk of harassment by the Feds.

H.R. 1329, to get rid of the BATFE

Representative Jim Sensenbrenner has put forward a resolution proposing the ATF be disbanded, seeing as it is a redundant, scandal ridden organization that has been trying for a while to ban M855 ammunition from public use, just because.

The agency also has participated in such massive failures as Ruby Ridge and the Waco siege. (Or were those events intentional?)

Call your Congressional representatives and instruct them to support this resolution.

Now they're rigging the approval ratings polls!

The Washington Post, ABC and CNN were totally embarrassed by the inaccuracies (intentional?) in their polling leading up to the election. All of them had Hillary Clinton winning by as much as 12%, which turned out to be completely fabricated.

It seems they've gone right back to their old tricks.

All three are intentionally sampling a larger group of people who identify as democrats than people who identify as republicans when conducting polling of Trump's approval ratings (he hasn't even gotten into office yet). This is obviously going to produce poor approval ratings. In order to get the most accurate rating, polling companies ensure that the people they poll are as close to 50-50 as possible.

More accurately, I should say 33-33-33, since "independents" are involved.

But the three fake news outlets in this post are intentionally sampling more democrats so they can produce a poll showing a lack of support for Trump.

The fight is not over. It is never over.

50 pounds of pinto beans.

Some lighthearted prepping advice coming your way in the midst of the sporty events of the last several months.

Just went to Sam's Club last week and picked up 50 pounds of pinto beans for long term storage. I'll be storing it all the same way I stored the white rice a while back, which is in one gallon Mylar bags, with a few 1gm oxygen absorbers tossed in each bag. The bags will be sealed with a hair straighten iron, bags labeled with the date, and place inside food grade (HDPE 2) five gallon buckets with sealing lids. The buckets protect the bags and the bags keep the environment out.

My research indicates this should keep the beans good for over twenty years. If I find anything that would indicate otherwise I'll let you know. If any readers have input, please comment.

Inauguration 2017: There will be blood?

Looks like Project Veritas has gotten footage of left-wing groups plotting violent disruptions at the inauguration, which is being referred to by some as "J20" (January 20th).

Only three more days, hold your breath. This is no guarantee.

Please observe the war radical Islam has been waging against the US since the murder of Robert Kennedy by Sirhan Sirhan. One side, the US, has generally refused to acknowledge that we are at war with radical Islam, while they themselves KNOW they are at war with us, simply because they have decided to be at war with us and are waging their side of that war.

Now apply that thought process to what's happening here. The "Deplorables" must understand something. That is that the left, the communists, progressives, collectivists, statists, whatever we call them, absolutely want to go to war with us. They want a war. They attack us for our beliefs, sometimes physically. They own the media and most of the government. They own a lot of the law enforcement.

We must not make the mistake of allowing them to wage their end of the conflict while we sit and try to convince ourselves that there is no conflict.

Three days is a long time. Keep your eyes open and don't let yourself be surprised by anything. That includes everything from an attack against your person to an attack on Donald Trump. Put nothing past them, they're not sitting at home accepting the inevitable. They are actively trying to stop it.

The Angry Man.

"The Angry Man", brought to you by Free North Carolina.

I had assumed that I might be an "angry man", but now I have confirmation.

An excerpt:

"The Angry Man owns firearms, and he's willing to pick up a gun and use it in defense of his home, his country and his family. He is willing to lay down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone if necessary to achieve those goals gives him only momentary pause."

Trump vs the CIA?

The last President to take on the CIA was John Kennedy.

Now we seem to have a showdown between Trump and the CIA.

Make no mistake, the anti-populist, anti-Trump globalists still have four days to take action. Maybe they will and maybe they will not. Regardless, they ARE planning and working. They've already tried so hard and eventually (sometime in the next four days) they'll be left to either give up and accept that he is President, or they'll have to take actual, physical, kinetic action rather than use words and lies to stop him.

A government that is capable of planning Operation Northwoods is capable of anything. Put nothing past them.

Major part of the 35 page report against Trump is a hoax?

Apparently, posters on 4Chan have inadvertently hoaxed both CNN and Buzzfeed, and seem to have also embarrassed the CIA as well.

If this doesn't destroy every bit of credibility CNN has left, then I'll be surprised. I'm not sure Buzzfeed had any credibility to begin with.

Even the NYT says CNN and Buzzfeed were engaged in "false rumors passed off as legitimate journalism", and says the allegations made against Trump in the report are "totally unsubstatiated" and that they refuse to publish the report, as they can not "stand behind" it.

NYT article on CNN and Buzzfeed fake news.

If you don't prefer to give the NYT your clicks, the other two links from Zerohedge are more than sufficient.

Reliability issues with the 35 page report on Russian support for Trump? You don't say.

Zerohedge has the report, apparently published in full by Buzzfeed (Buzzfeed? Problems with reliability? You don't say...).

Zerohedge article on 35 page report with links to the report itself.

Several points in the report have already been proven false.

Add Buzzfeed and CNN to your "fake news" list, if you haven't already.

I do not want a president-elect to be influenced or otherwise "owned" by a totalitarian regime like Russia. But if the allegations are made, I expect some evidence. All we have thus far is more lies from the MSM, and as usual, they are dumbfounded that no one believes them.

Allow yourself to think strangely for a moment (Fort Lauderdale Shooting)

Isn't it convenient that just after SB 140 is introduced in the Florida Legislature, we have this "mentally ill" former National Guardsman fly from Alaska all the way to Florida (no less) to commit a heinous act of "mass murder" (AKA Saturday night on the town in Chicago).

He killed people in an airport. SB 140 would allow Floridians to carry a defensive weapon in some areas of airports.

Yes, it is very convenient for some people.

Allow yourself to think differently for one moment, to break the normalcy bias, if only briefly. Just do it as a thought exercise and see if you can entertain the idea of something very different from how you normally think.

Read Bracken's Professor Raoul X, and then read the news articles about Adam Lanza, Dylan Roof and Esteban Santiago.

Now do the math, and let it percolate briefly. NOW, ponder what it means for our entire system and society.

Crazy conspiracy theories are usually... Crazy.

Usually.

The American people do not trust 0bama or the mainstream media

Two online polls conducted by mainstream media personalities John Harwood (CNBC since most people don't know who he is, for good reason) and Lou Dobbs show that the American people (or at least the ones voting in the polls) have little trust for the mainstream media (MSM), US intelligence (USI) or for 0bama.

The poll by John Harwood seems to show that the American people have no trust in USI. However, I believe this actually reflects a lack of trust in the MSM, since the public doesn't really know what USI knows about this situation outside of how the MSM is spinning the story. The MSM continues to claim that USI is directly blaming Vladimir Putin for "hacking" the election, while many in USI are refuting that (such as William Binney, the NSA's top codebreaker and designer of the mass surveillance system).

As far as the second poll, I think it was obvious that Assange was going to garner more trust than 0bama, since the American people are pretty much willing to trust anyone over the liar 0bama. This is probably part of the reason we see such a rise in support for Putin, since Putin is firmly positioned as an adversarial  force to 0bama, and that automatically makes him appreciable to the American people, despite his poor human rights record and totalitarian leadership style.

Then again, 0bama has his own leadership style deficiencies, doesn't he?

On the Fort Lauderdale shooter.

A shooter in the Fort Lauderdale airport has killed five people and wounded others. Word is he is a former National Guardsman who was discharged for unsatisfactory performance, and may have had some mental health issues as well as a drive to commit some sort of Jihad. Name is Esteban Santiago, and as badly as CNN would like him to be white, he is not, no matter how hard they try to make it so.

Gates of Vienna blog makes a credible assertion on ties to Islamic Jihad.

The Daily Mail reporting on the torture by four blacks on white man.

Here is a good complete and updated report from Daily Mail on the recent events where a disabled white man was kidnapped and tortured by four blacks.

0bama doesn't grasp the problems, even though these things happened in his town of Chicago.

Imagine something for a second... We saw what these four pieces of filth are capable of. Now realize that the odds of these four being the worst human beings that Chicago has to offer are pretty small. Which means that there are SOME people in Chicago that are actually worse than these four.

In other news, 28 people were shot in Chicago on New Year's Day alone.

It's time for Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago Police Chief to step down. While I fully blame the shooters themselves for their actions, the mayor and police chief have both been complicit in fostering an environment in which the law abiding are discouraged from defending themselves and black cultural problems in the city are ignored and sometimes celebrated.

When "community organizers" are the leaders of your community, your community is probably in trouble. These organizers are not there to organize. If things get organized, then they're out of a job and they'll have to get a REAL job. They are there to sow discord and propagate division. It's job security for them.

"Safe Shorts" for German women?

Apparently a new invention called "Safe Shorts" is being marketed in Germany to protect women from being raped, I assume by Middle Eastern and North African "migrants", since if we are all adults living in reality, we have to admit that that's a thing now.

SAFE Shorts.

Might I recommend Glock SAFE Action Pistols, as well?

Bracken sends a reminder.

From Matt Bracken. Please visit.

Four black people charged for torturing white man.

Zerohedge reports that four blacks in Chicago have been charged with a hate crime when they kidnapped, bound and beat a white, disabled man and streamed it live on Facebook. The blacks could be heard yelling "F**k white people" and "F**k Trump" during the video.

Black racist CNN anchor Don Lemon claims that the attackers are just victims of bad parenting.

The Chicago police spokesman says the police department believes the man was targeted because of his disability and not because of his race, despite the attackers yelling "F**k white people" in the video.

The grandmother of one of the attackers says that her granddaughter is a "good person" and that her behavior doesn't represent how she raised her.

Maybe that's part of the problem. Maybe the piece of trash should have been raised by a mother and father instead of a grandmother. Maybe that's part of the problem with the black, inner city, death culture in places like Chicago, Detroit and St. Louis.

Zerohedge story here.

Imagine if the races in this story were reversed. How many neighborhoods would burn?

SB 140, to open carry in Florida.

Senator Steube (R) is the new chairman of the Florida Senate Judiciary Committee, replacing the disgusting FORMER Senator and chairman De la Portilla (R). Senator Steube has gotten right to the point of writing and submitting SB 140, the bill that will legalize open carrying of defensive firearms in the state of Florida. If this bill passes it will take effect on July 1, 2017. Our biggest roadblock was De la Portilla and he has since been voted out of office. I expect that this bill will pass and that Florida will become the 46th state to allow open carrying of defensive firearms by trained, law abiding citizens.

The bill also cuts down on the locations where carrying a defensive firearm is prohibited.

The Ministry of Truth opens June 21st. This is not a joke.

The US House of Representatives and the US Senate has passed a bill that was signed into law in late December by 0bama. The bill includes provisions for the creation of a new government organization, called the "Global Engagement Center", that will be tasked with addressing and countering all information, coming from anyone, that is deemed to be detrimental to "national security".

MiniTruth is coming.

6,000 page views.

My little blog here has just hit 6,000 page views. I don't really care if it's 6,000 people viewing it one time each, or one person viewing it 6,000 times. Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to take a look and please come back anytime!

The last column of Thomas Sowell.

It would do us all a lot of good to read back on some of Sowell's columns and other writings. A giant of Liberty is retiring.

His final column.

The stability of society is rooted in the traditional family unit.

The stability of society is rooted in the concept of a traditional family unit. This is the family that consists of one man and one woman who have children between them, all living under one roof, where the man does most of the outside work for income and the woman does most of the inside work of ensuring the home runs properly and smoothly.

Does this mean other circumstances can not work? Of course not. Other circumstances can work out just fine. I should not have to add that little caveat, since I figure we are all adults here and that it should go without saying that not all traditional households work well and that not all non-traditional households suffer from non-traditional status. I shouldn't have to say that, because it's obvious, but I do have to, because we still have a lot of people who's intellect allows them only to point out obvious deficiencies in an argument that everyone else already understands and moves past.

So back to my point, that there is such a thing as an ideal family situation. That ideal situation is NOT one where the two parents live separately of each other, or where there are some extraneous children at other locations, or where you have to deal with ex-spouses or other such entities on a regular basis. The people in these situations are not less than human and are not "bad" people by default. I'm simply stating that these types of situations are less than ideal. Can the adults in the room at least agree upon this?

As we see society becoming less and less stable and friendly, I have one major answer for why it is happening. The traditional family unit is becoming less common and is being replaced by examples of bastardization. Excepting some major personality flaws (spousal abuse, child abuse, substance abuse, etc.) the family unit that consists of one man and one woman with children between them living under one roof, is on average the most commonly stable configuration for a family unit. This is undeniable. I will not continue to provide diversity-sensitive caveats for those of us who believe that reality changes as our feelings get hurt. This type of family unit provides the highest probability of stability in society.

But today, and for a good many years now, we see that not only is the traditional family being tagged as unnecessary, but it's actually now being spoken of as if the alternatives are more stable or more desirable. This encouragement to abandon the hope of one day being a part of a traditional and stable family unit is having a major effect on our children and their future.

Homeschooling your kids, cutting off all cable and satellite options and closely monitoring all internet traffic in your home will allow you, the parent (or future parent) to counteract these harmful propaganda-filled messages. Using a streaming option for your TV allows you to pick and choose what enters your home via your TV (your dumb TV, not a "smart" TV).

The cultural destruction of America is being launched by two methods, one being the illegal mass importation of third-world immigrants who have no ability or intention to assimilate, the other being what I just spoke about. The degrading of the traditional family unit.
